Ok boys it looks like Lake Travis is going to win, I will call it a finished vote if all others agree.
What would you say to a house on the water with its own Boat Dock! :p, Its OWN RAMP!! :shock:, that sleeps 22+, located half way up the river that feeds Lake Travis. I expanded my research when I saw that 22 people voted.

now it is $825 a night but divided by 20 thats 41.25 each a night. Might be more with final taxes (12%) and such but still less than a hotel. Actually with 12% calculated in it comes to $924 a night or 46.20 a person per night

2 decide if we want it Friday, Saturday and Sunday

this is getting into some serous rental money whoever handles the rental agreement could lose some bucks if we trashed the place.

It is very close to spicewood. Look on that map you showed and spicewood is about 20miles upstream.

This is the north side of the lake so a whole lot easier for me to just drive the ski's over.

my buddy mark (owner of the emerald lake house) was willing to have the band riverstone (http://riverstoneband.com) another freind of ours and forum member (humancnc) play saturday night at his house.. walking distance from the heather 2 house.. all roundup paticapents are welcome for free music and im trying to get a big bar-b-q for that evening as well... his house borders the park so theres plenty of room for parking with trailers if need be.
rapidacceleration.com and possible another local ski shop will have a table setup will billit goodies for sales and possible some other stuff. (2stroke oil, plugs, acc)

ive also put a shout out to all the locals and it looks like about 20+ local skis will be showing up durring the day too. :D

that locating is absolutly perfect. its own boat ramp, bunches of room, perfect lake area,etc...
we can park vehicles with trailers at the other house as well for overflow parking. and ive got a cool band and bar-b-q set up for saturday night if its at lago..

major grocerys you will want to get in cedar park 15 miles (wallmart,HEB)
there is a liquior store,cvs,sonic,taco's,donuts,marine store,hardware,etc locally. within 5 miles.

the band is riverstone. Ive talk to them again today and am setting it up for sundown saturday night at the emerald park house.. about 5 houses over from the one you guys are renting.

Yup, I am in the same boat. With a family of 3, I cant flip this event and than MB just 3 weeks later, thats 2 $800 weekends for me just 3 weeks apart :(

I know what you mean about taking the kids with you too. They grow up too fast. That's why I have bought all the skis I have so we can keep them close to us for as long as we can, except for mudbugs, that's our time alone.

Guys, I just thought of something. My father-in-law caters BBQ for a living. If yall are interested in getting him to cook us a briskets I can get him to do that. He can freeze them so that all we would have to do is heat it up on a pit. I can also get sausage in bulk for pretty cheap. All of the other fixings (potato salad, cole slaw, beans, etc) would be cheaper to buy in bulk from Sams club. If this is something that yall would be interested in just let me know. I would need a head count to get close on the amount of food.

Ok I just gave the rental people a call (tiffany- she wants to know when to show up Sat for the band)

Tax title and License, Drive out heres what we are looking at.

$2191 Friday at 4 pm till Sunday at 4 pm
first half payment is a $997.50 Deposit to get in the calender.
2nd half payment is $1193.50

So with the current number of people thats $116 each.

Now my math in the intial post was based on getting 20 AND for checking out at Noon Sunday.

If we checked out at noon Sunday the cost is
$1883 with a 850 deposit
So $100 each.


Wow I just had a Brain Fart and paniced since that wasnt the amount I initally reported But these figures are for both nights or the whole time frame we choose, my inital post I did the math in per night increments...Whew!!!

so we need to be thinking about how were going to handle the money.

How do we want to handle wifes and girfriends are thy full price? At a hotel 2nd persons would be reduced? I would say though that couples get first dibs on the bigger beds

I am willing to give my credit card as security deposit when the time comes as someone will have to and I hope everyone will do whats necesary for me not to get charges.

Anyway main thing is do we want to checkout at noon and move all our stuff to our cars then go ride or do we want to get up go ride and check out at 4 and drive back

For me, I would rather take the early check out since I will have a 4 hour plus drive home. By the time we get up Sunday morning and get the place cleaned up, it will be near noon anyway. We're going to have to watch the water level @ Travis in the next couple of months. I have a friend who lives 30 minutes from there and he said that he has heard that the lake is way down right now and if this still true in May, we may have trouble launching. I'm sure rappidacceleration will be there a few times before we go and will keep us up to date for water conditions.

Those Ultra's are often forgotten about. In stock form 1200GPR's can't touch them, and they run about the same on topend as the 1300GPR's, they are fairly quick out of the hole too.

We keep her elevated after she eats for atleast 20 minutes before we lay her down. It tends to bother her ever couple hours (every time she eats), but the medicine is helping. I have it too sometimes, it hurts.

It is a down right blast. Quick out the hole, decent top end, you can spin out all day long, throw whoever is riding with you, and unpredicatable as a woman. I love my GPRs, but this thing is way different. I compare the GPR to a Harley and the Ultra to a bad a$$ dirt bike. Riding in the chop is a workout. I would not want one for a long weekend, like mudbugs, but it is a refreshing change for the short day trips. I recently went out on our local river and glass was sweet, chop was fun, great big waves were nasty, but fun. On the GPR, landing in rough water is a no brainer, on the Ultra, you better hold one. I just stayed in the throttle, letting off when the pump became unhooked, and held on for life. Most fun I have had since riding Jetskr's standup. And for top speed and hole shot, My 250 lb buddy on his bone stock 05 GP1300R, could not shake me on the Ultra, and I weight 195.
I'm telling you, if you can afford a "back-up ski", the Ultra is one to have. I got an awesome deal on it and said I bought it for my daughter, but I think I have put more hours on it than her.:lol:

I have been hesitateing aswering questions about if there is more room due to a couple of factors.

1 its going to change the price per head and cause me to adjust for the people who have already paid no biggie really there I can do it.

2 while the house listing says it will sleep 26.5 people (there is a crib) Im not sure how its going to work out with couples there are only so many queen size beds which I figured us single guys would give up but still then the fuller it gets the less likely a couple will have a room to theirselves. I would suggest couples go back to the first thread with the link to the house and read about the bed layout.

Im coming single so it doesnt really matter to me how many people want in the house the only thing I am worried about is couples being upset with lack of privacy. What do you all think.

Now the other option is if a couple has to share a room with a single guy...well we might not want to get into that here. 8-[8-[

Well it seems that particular house got rented for that weekend. Now I can only attend myself the original weekend 18-20 or 11-13 but the 13th falls on Mother's Day so I dont think others would want to switch plus many have made arrangements based on the original dates so...I am going to sit on this till monday then call down see what I can do with the amount of money we have for the original dates which means we will probably be split up.

My goal will be to try and keep us near the original house since the band and locals will be two house down

I am also thinking of booking a house for the couples 10 heads and a house for the singles 11 this sound like a good idea?

I think I am going to be hard pressed to find accomendations for the group I have money for this was a huge house capable of sleeping 25 we were going after, now since it is gone I am looking at splitting up over two houses and having to stay near the other house of locals where the band will be at.

let me make a few calls and drive by "the shore" and cabo loco. both have hotel rooms on the lake for rent right there less then a 1/4 mile down lake..

ok, i just got off the phone with stacey of lago rentals (512-267-2202)... make sure you tell her its for the jetski event.
theres many other houses avalible include the other heather house but it sleeps only 15...

keep in mind we only need 1 waterfront for base camp. theres many other acomodations avalible from them..
she will be emailing me a full list of avaliblitys that weekend and ill post them later..

anyway its all good.. dont panic.. they have plenty of rentals for that weekend..

these houses are huge so, even if it says "sleeps 15" you probbly could fit more like 20-25 pepple in there comfortable.. id recomend the heather house becouse you can see it from where the band is playing...:shock:

Mockingbird II has the most queens and will be the Couples House,1-3 of us single guys may need to stay there in the twin beds, it also is supposed to have a ramp. It will be near the Emerald House so we can walk down or drive to the Sat festivities.

They are not next door to each other but rather seperated by one house, so we can drive that house crazy LOL.

So the rental agrement is being sent to me I will complete and mail today so I am going to the bank and deposit all your check and then write one for the whole amount and send it in with the paperwork and we are done.

Now this pretty much locks us in as far as number of people. If anyone else wanted to come they would most likly be looking at sleeping on a cot or the floor but they are more than welcome.

Check in is Friday the 18th after 4 pm

OK so it looks to be a great weekend a warm up for the mudbug.

The way I see it Mock II holds the 5 couples plus 4 singles maxed out and Mock I holds 9 singles without two guys sharing a full so we have two singles left over in Mock II.

So KNR yes your welcome. I guess it would be the same price of $90 per head and I would split up monies recieved from you amongst the group and everyones cost would go down.
