So far I'm Just thinking about it & the warden hates the Idea so i'm at a terrible decision time here. Make it & live outside for a bit or forget it & wish I had..:-k
Here's a few pics I took of the motor out of the hull with some measurements.
I'm not gonna pull the rxp motor just to see if it fits so if anyone has an rxp motor already pulled can you measure the length, width & height.
I like the 785 gsx hull over the 951 hull because the intake grate bolts through the hull & has a lip on the other end that fits into the the pump shoe for more support. The pump area can be made to support the rxp pump pretty easily too. But most of all I already have the hull too so it's less money.:D
The electric box would go away & the battery can be moved up front if need be to make room for the xs IC. The exhaust exit is ok where it is.
there's 14" between the rear motor mount bolts. There's 28" at the widest point in the middle of the hull just below the bond line & 23" wide above the line. Bottom center of hull to just below the top lip is 20" tall.
I might just have to buy an rxp motor & electrics/guage & sell my 06 & get the rxp x to have something to ride, or just keep the 06.:-k

That opening is going to be tight. Gpr opening is 17" yours is 15" at best. I think if the intake manifold and exhaust manifold is removed it might just sqeeuk in there.

Joe's right...you're opening is going to be a major problem. Dropping my 1200 Polaris motor in there I have to turn it sideways and drop it in vertically to get it to fit when I have the engine cross bars on...Our top decks are the same so that may end up being you biggest snag...Will certainly require you to pull the intake and exhaust manifolds and install them in the hull...
I'm interested to see how it works though...STVDrag has shown us that these hulls can haul so it should be interesting...What you are considering is something I considered at one point but I had a perfectly good 1200 Polaris motor and a much cheaper route to get to the 240ish hp realm so I decided to go that route instead...
Also Joe, remember when you were asking me how different my hull was from the standard GSX (especially on the inside)? Take a look at his pics and the one's I'm attaching...Night and day...

Wow Jim this is quite a project. Let me know if you need some help. I will be working in Brea for the next month or so then in Riverside once our move is complete. I never realized that had a cabon fiber bottom on it sweeeeeeeet!:D

That's not my hull with CF. Thats Sirhc7897's hull, err, unless his name is jim too.
I can get my hands on a gsxl hull with a CF top but it's bare & would cost a fortune to piece it up, thats why I was considering my hull, it has everything there plus the intake grate bolts through the hull not into inserts.;)
The wife hates the idea though, tough call to make.:-k #-o

I must have been looking at the wrong picture then. I think Sirhc is Chris since it is spelled backwards but that is just a guess:D still let me know if you are doing this.

the wate of the rxp motor may be to much for the hull the V6 motor is about 175lb and it is all the hull wants what dose the 4-tec way

Please do this! I have been wanting to do the same thing. I have 2 gsx hulls...one that is complete and one that is completely bare. I have a complete rxt without hull...I have been wanting to know if this application is do-able. I am new to the whole fixing up ski thing. I have been riding for many years, but not fixing them up. Oh and btw..Hello to everybody! I will be asking a lot of questions on here...sorry, but I am just trying to figure some stuff out. If you have any questions about muscle cars, street rods or high performance boats though, you can shoot them my way.

welcome to the forums bob, dont wait for these guys....get started now.=D>
if you have an empty gsx hull you might be able to help. take your 4 tech and remove the intake and exhaust manifold. Engine hoist it into the gsx hull to see if it fits.

RXP motor is a shade north of 200lbs (with the manifolds on I think)...It's no lightweight beast...
But hell a XP hull held it so why not the GSX hull...Might just change the ride characteristics a little bit...

I have done all the same measurements you have done and it does look tight but possible. I won't get back to my garage until next Saturday though, but I will definatly do that. My buddy and I looked and did measurement after measurement and we think we can get it in there, even if that means shaving the lip under the seat a bit, to widen it. I to have an 06 rxp and have been compareing the openings and still see this working. I will drop the motor in next weekend. Sorry that is the best I can do for now, unless you want a donor hull, I would gladly let you have it. Its a 96gsx with title, completely stripped. Oh, and call me MC...The name is just a little play on words.;)

Jim,
around 20ish inches long between the mounts. Maybe an inch past the rear mount for the open loop cooling plus another 2" for the rear driveshaft bearing/rubber thingee.
Per your measurements, you should be able to leave on the exhaust and swing it vertically sideways and lower it while rotating it in place. The rear mounts are the widest point, and will cause you the most grief. I didn't get a side/side measurement on the mounts.

Any word on if in fact the 4tec will fit? I got a CF gsx hull sitting on my porch collecting dust.
did i read correctly in another post that the RXP pump fits the GSXL?

"did i read correctly in another post that the RXP pump fits the GSXL?"
Yup. I wonder, though, with the changes necessary to the drive line, if you wouldn't do as well with a Skat E-pump? Skat says the stock GSX-L drive shaft is good to 200+HP, and they make lots of props to fit both standard & setback models. The flip side is, if you're building a PTO anyway, you can fabricate the shaft to fit the RXP pump or work it so you can use the stock shaft. I guess it depends on how much machine work you want to do (or pay for), and how much torque/HP you will be producing, and where the engine will sit longitudinally.:-k
