Has anyone here replaced their Throttle Position Sensor? I need to know how to remove the tamper proof screws/rivets that hold the factory TPS in place. I have the replacement sensor but I don't wanna start "hacking".
Thanks,
Matt

If your sensor is junk and you don't care what happens to it, the easiest way to get it off is try to grab the sides of the screws with a GOOD set of vice grip pliers and try to turn them. If you get lucky they should come off, but Honda put loctite on the screws so that might not work. You can also try to gently break the sensor off to remove all the plastic around the screws and then you will be able to get a better grip on the screw. Once you have done that you might want to heat up the screw a little BUT BE CAREFUL not to put to much heat to it because you might burn a throttle shaft seal and then try to back them off. You might want to try this too, if you have a air grinder with a 1/16 cut off disk you can cut a slot on the head of the screw and then use a flat head screw driver to get them off, that works sometimes. Make sure sure you set the TPS, I think the on a R12X the Ohms between the Pink wire and Green/Yellow wire (2 outer wires) should read 4-6k Ohms, thats on the TPS sensor not the harness. The F12X should be the same but I'm not sure, I think they use the same throttle bodies, but don't hold me to it. Hopefully this helps. Good Luck

Yep, dremel with a cut off wheel is what I used. Came right off with flat blade screwdriver.
