I was just curious if anyone knew a good PWC insurance company that insures PWC's over 200HP. I've called a few and so far I've only found one that will insure my RXP-X.

However, I believe I am not covered if I leave my PWC parked outside my townhouse because it's not in a locked garage. Is there any company that will cover me?

Toy insurance is, or can be outrageously expensive. Therefore I protect my 6 quads, skiis, trailers, & MC in my locked toy barn with double locked and blocked driveway, nosey neighbours, mean lookin' dog, meaner acting wife, ruger, berretta, and of coarse... Smith & Wesson. While on the road........ umpteen dozen cable locks, smart parking, watchfull eye, take no prisoners attitude, with one hand on the trigger works most excellent.
You really park your shit outside? :-s Where is that exactly? Better chain it up inside chop chop, or risk losing it. It took months for my wife to calm down after I pushed her car out of the garage for the toy trailer.

Lol, I wish I had a nice secure garage or barn to keep my stuff nice and safe, but I don't. I can't find a place within my budget that fits my needs! :( Ah well, my stuff isn't in a bad location. There is another guy that's keeps his jetski outiside across from my unit and he's had no problems. All my neighbours are military, and for the most part, we all watch each others stuff.

Rather have a garage though!

Is the company Marine Expert? If so I would call them and ask why you are paying 200 more than everybody else.

$525.00

Marine expert wanted over $600.00

Kept in a locked garage with 6 other toys.(plus a little extra surprise for any unsuspecting thief:-$)

With the economy being in the dumps , I would recommend shopping around. You will eventually find the lowest price and best deal.
I didnt, was in a rush to get in the water.

Well, I took yer advice and called them up. I was with Premier, but NO LONGER as I can not stand them! I consider myself EXTREMELY lucky that nothing happened to my ski this summer! The one thing I really wanted the insurance for was theft, and premier does not cover my ski if it is stolen because I don't have a locked garage or a garage for that matter! I keep mine in a parking lot in front of my townhome. My neighbour has kept his also in the same lot for years and nothing bad ever happened, but still... DUE DILIGENCE!

So Marine Experts are $200+ cheaper than premier, covers me in case of theft, and recommended by some good people here! Seems like a no brainer! ByeBye Premier! You take this years quote of $658 and shove it where the sun doesn't shine!

If I recall correctly, Premier wanted you to take a wheel off when parked. I am surprised they didn't ask to have your left nut glued to it as well.

When I spoke with Pam form Marineexperts, she mentioned they get a lot of disgruntled people from Premier. Premier told me their premiums are so high because jetski's are so commonly stolen! lol, ...and that's suppose to explain why I'm paying extra for a policy that will not cover me?! Come'on!!!

Who insures PWC's in BC over 200hp? Far as I can tell, there is only 2 in Ontario (and I think Quebec as well).

My shits insured by Smith & Wesson, Howitzer, Lars, Berretta, big dog, and a mean wife. The guy who hits me will suffer from testicular removal.

I don't think so Mikey. Just out of curiousity, what kind of craft do you have? Is it over or under 200hp? On Marine Experts site, it looks like coverage is only for Ontario and Quebec, but please don't let that stop you from inquiring. Contact them @:

They do 200hp+?

I've seen a few companies that offer PWC insurance, but most will say "no" if it's over 200hp.

You would still be in the same category as me because yer over 200hp. I don't have the papers from my insurance yet, but $450 I think. The declared value of your vehicle also influences the price.

Still got some time to find the best deal until it's on the water.Compare policies carefully. Some policies only cover theft only if the PWC is only locked inside a building. And there must be signs of forced entry, with a police report confirming that.

My understanding is that the Marine Expert policy covers theft under more reasonable conditions.

Let us know the results of your comparison shopping. Not just price differences, but coverage differences.

My ski's stored either in the garage or it's stored at the marine which has on site security and the trailer is chained to another one. I think both places are pretty safe.

Physical security (locks, chains, etc) is supposed to keep your items from disappearing.

Theft insurance comes into play when the physical security doesn't work, and the item has disappeared.

Then there is vandalism and accidental damage while you are not around. Stuff happens, and someone needs to pay for the repairs. Will that be you, or the insurance company?

Having it chained to another trailer isn't necessary to most insurance companies. Most require you to have a good tongue lock I believe.
