Hi Guys

This is my first post, just would like to thank all the guys on the forum for supporting each other when in need of assitance.

I am the proud owner of my first ski, 2007 FX160 HO, I had a look at a 08 GPR1300R , due to fuel and oil so expense in South Africa. I reconsiderd and bought the FX.

I am sure I will get into FAQ soon, its winter here now and riding will only start in Sep when its warmer again.

Where could one buy mod or spare parts for these machines.

Thanks again,
Jay

I went to the local Yahama dealer the other day as I have interest in purchasing our first waverunner this year.
At the time, they only had a couple of units on the lot, and I am interested in the VXS. Initially, I was told it was a 2012, however, he checked the computer and found that it was actually a left over 2011.
I have no qualms about buying a 2011 or a 2012 as they are both new and come with the full factory warranty.
The price he quoted me was full MSRP for the ski. If Im paying full MSRP, Ill buy a current model year ski which is only $100 more.

Is it reasonable to expect to pay less for a non current model year ski?

If so, what is a reasonable amount to offer for a 2011 VXS excluding any rebates or factory offerings?

Any concerns on the VXS?

Thanks
Chris

For the record, the next closest dealership is more than 300 miles away.

Ok, so my dealership provided me with the check valve to replace the 90 elbow in the vxrs cooling system, but did not mount it because they were, "not sure where, it depends on whether you want it for towing, or for when in reverse".
I am confused, would acheck valve make the ski safe for towing? I don't see how, and if it would, where would I put it.

Assuming that they are crazy , and that check valve is to prevent water intrusion while in reverse, does anyone have apic which shows exactly where it goes?

Also, while we are on the subject, what can be done to make it safe to two? I would think a selectable shut off would work, but am not sure where is best to install one?

Anyone else come up with a solution in case a long tow is needed?

Thanks for the help.

R&D Pro Series 160mm 14 Vein Stainless Steel Racing Pump Kit

R&D has developed “The Ultimate Racing Pump” for the Big Powered Yamaha’s. When it comes to racing pumps for the Yamaha, it absolutely does not get any better. This new R&D 14 Vein Racing Pump System will tame up to 500 H.P. engine packages with NO PROBLEMS! The Pump utilizes a 160mm impellor O.D., while upsizing the internal hub to 83mm. The Pump System assembly also uses and extended driveshaft set up which will relocate the vein section creating a shorter stator vein section. Shorter stator vein sections with large hubs also referred to as a axial flow design will build big pressure which will add to greater pump thrusts over conventional mixed flow pump systems. R&D has also incorporated into the new design a “Full Length Liner”. Gone is the old school split liner setup where the impellor is placed and rides between two liner surfaces. The new R&D design does it right, and the way a Race Pump should be! The R&D Race Pump works seamless with existing R&D 160mm Single Stage or Twin Prop Impellor set ups. Prop sold separately. Simply put, there is no better pump system available.

• Produces maximum thrusts, eliminates internal pump cavitation
• Significantly increases pump load and hook up over any other pump design
• Increases acceleration performance
• Higher top speed averages
• Works great with stock reduction nozzles, or R&D Pro Nozzles
• Works great with R&D Adjustable Pump Cone Assemblies
