Looks great! I just painted my slx but this is a good idea.

Rub rails take hits every time you go out, car bumpers do not. Passers by sending wake your way, not being able to watch your ski while you park, etc.

Here's the deal, paint your rub rails, and you'll constantly have to touch them up. The good news is the paint is cheap and you'll learn to be careful.

I used Krylon fusion. It does rub off if you bump it, but I feel any paint would.

I took a spill yesterday at about 30. No big deal, but my buddy lost it at about 55 catching up to me. I saw the whole thing, he was in riding position, but not on the ski anymore, it was hilarious....

I don't think I'll paint it, it gets too much use.

My hydro turf and new front bumper came in today. The bumper is drying, and the hydro turf is installed. It went on really easy, I just had to cut a hole out for my rear tow hole.

I used rivets for the sides, and bought some stainless bolts with smooth heads for the bumper.

I am getting custom decals made for the rest of the ski, black hydroturf because black wasn't my plan for the hull at the time. It will look good though. The stock rubber is in good shape.

Sounds like a short in the wiring. Give it a good check, and dielectric grease your connections.
