I knoe for sure you can mod that gp to blow him away. Im guessing A/M carbs , reeds , manifolds. Mabe some porting. That should be enough to beat him. If not just sell the gp for a gp1200r and mod that to destroy him.

If your buddies ultra 150 is box stock and your gp 1200 is all stock (engine )your already 3 to 5 mph behind him!! if he has a shredmaster ride plate you will have to spend major $$`s just to keep up with him.it can be done but you will have to spend quite a bit. the ultra 150 is a 70 mph ski with very few mods.some of them were 64- 66 mph off the show room floor,,,i would have to agree with the others a gpr is your best defense against the ultra 150.

man that stinks. I love my gp1200 the way it looks I not much a fan of the gpr body styles. I was looking at Group K sleeper kit say it will do 70mph. Not sure if that true.

The Hammer Kit from Group K promises 70mph, but it has triple pipes. The Sleeper kit (porting, milled stock head) will get you 64-66 with a Group K pitched Solas J, the R&D intake grate and ride plate. My motor was built in 2002 for one reason, to beat my buddies 99 Ultra 150. In a drag I would pull him 5 lengths out of the hole and keep the lead, our top speeds were the same. My GP now runs 68-70 mph with 230 hrs on this same motor that was built in 2002. I gained the rest of the speed from shimming the ride plate and filling in all the bolt holes underneath.
