Polaris MSX 110-HELP
Im being offered a beautiful MSX-110 for $1000.00. It only has 40 hours on it. Owner says it quit running and he took it to mechanic. Mechanic stated "rear cylinder has no compression. Pulled valve cover - found rear intake valve and holder are broke, the other cylinder has lost a shim". What does all this mean and what needs to be done to repair it? Can all the parts be found since this is a discontinued manufacturer? Thanks for any help.

Loosing a valve shim on a Weber engine usually means something prevented the valve from closing. In this case, valve lash opens up and the shim is ejected from under the camshaft follower. Have a close look at your spark plug and see if it has metal debris on it.
