my rxp-x will only turn 7660 rpm????

changed the wear ring. moved rpms up to 7680,has 71hrs on it.
my son rides it so info is limited,as he is
only 13 and does not pay much attention.
i did notice that the nose cone piece on
front of prop that shaft does through
is all torn up,and apart.could this be the problem?
it just started this 2 weeks ago.
the bike is all stock for now.
any suggestion would be great.i have been on
forums for 2 nights night.all i can say in wowwww.

The nose cone on the prop is hurting performance for sure. Also, I would be concerned about the OEM SCer washers at those hours. Get the slip checked.

    re

what would cause that nose cone piece to come all apart.
he also said it sounds like its spinning outmand is slow all the
way through power curve from start to wot.
i was thinking the 08 washers were suppose to last longer.
i will check sc slip for sure.
    thanx for info.

Something going thru the pump. Was there damage on the prop? The wear ring usually last a while unless you are running sand and debris thru the pump.

Not sure what you are saying about spinning.

The washers don't last longer. Seen failure in less than 50 hours. Seen bad failure about 70 hours with stock OEM 08 washers. If you catch it early and shim them up, maybe you will make 100 hours.

    re

the wear ring was not that bad at all{just comparing to new one}.
prop looks fine.no obvious damage.do they make a aftermarket sc that will hold up any longer?also whos washers do you recomend? so i will need to rebuild sc every 50 to 70 hrs?by any chance is that covered under warranty?sorry for all the newbie questions.
this is my first 2 pwcs.

    Welcome to the Forum!!!!!

I would be willing to bet your sc is slipping at 70 hours unless you ride like grandpa. Seriously

Dont waste your time with stock coated washers.
    Put riva washers asap.

+1 RIVA SCer washers. You may need a whole SCer rebuild also, if it was slipping alot. Its a pain, but you can pull off the air intake at the SCer and try and turn the SCer by hand. If you can its likely less than 5lbs, bad. Thinking could check oil level, too. Follow the owners manual. What kind of conditions are you running in?
