    Hook in the RXT Hull

I've read somewhere on GH that when trueing the RXT hull you shouldn't remove the "hook" at the rear of the hull.

Why is this? I would have thought by removing the hook you will gain more speed by lifting the nose without the need of a pump wedge.

Actually, there is no hook in the RXT/GTX hull. There is considerable hook in the RXP hull, but removing it usually leads to an ill-handling ski (porpoising) and is better left alone. One can, however, "blueprint" or "true" either hull in search of speed, but the results are minimal at best... especially for the time and effort expended.
