    Some more VTS bs!

So my VTS didn't work at the begining of the season, took it to the dealer for a little BUDS magic and got the VTS back on the gauge, but the VTS still doesn't work. I'm thinking that the VTS housing is full of water from an incident that happened on the last trip last season where I awoke to my ski mostly under water, hooked up to it's anchor; anyway, besides replacing the stereo, this is probably the next consequence. I had read here the other day(did a search and can't find it) that a windshield wiper motor from a Jeep will work. Anyone have any details on this? Direct replacement, or a little tweeking? Model/part number? Thanks.
P.S. My ski is four hours away so I can't get to it for a week and a half.

Just replaced my VTS motor last week. Couldn't believe how much water was in the motor !!

Prolly gonna be your problem I would guess.

Got my motor off ebay for around $100. Not the best deal, but since I needed it at the last minute I can't complain.

    Good luck.

Was that for a new, used, or rebuilt? When you cleaned out your science project did it at all look possible to disassemble the motor and service it like you might do with a starter motor? Thanks for chiming in.
Where about at the river do you hang?

Went to the river this past weekend and pulled the VTS, and disassembled. It's toast. Full of water, muck, and rust. I've been looking on ebay and can find new and used motors. Some of the used ones look to be in great shape. Some of the sellers list two compatible part numbers. One is for a 98 GSX LTD. #278000616, and the other is #278001292 for a 2005 RXP. They look the same, I'm hopeing one of the gurus here can comfirm that they are interchangable.

    Thanks OBJ

Thanks marvin. That's a good price. Now I just have to decide whether to be a cheap bastard and buy just the vts motor on ebay for $50 or get your complete unit for the $125 I hate these decisions.

John, I've also got one for sale from an '04 RXP. Let me know. It's in good shape, 100 hours.
