    New RXT question?

Just bought my wife an RXT. It now has 8 hours on it and is bone stock. The best rpms I have seen is 7,800 under the following conditions: L TEMP 86, E TEMP 96, Barometer 29.5, fuel = 7 bars, elevation = 800 ft. DO I HAVE A SLOW SKI OR A FAST SKI OR IS THIS NORMAL?

BTW - I plan on installing the 2 degree wedge and the Riva grate and removing the OPAS over the next two weeks.

Phil; I'm sending out the grate, wedge and rings today. You should get them before the weekend.

Phil, not too bad considering the heat and elevation.

Also keep in mind that as it breaks in and loosens up the RPM's will come up a little.

Jerry's right - elevation, heat, and break in seems to be your only natural barriers. Honestly that RPM isn't bad with the temp you listed.

Those RPM'S seem about what mine was when it was new. You didn't put your speed but mine was about 64.4 the first time I went WOT with about 3.5 hrs.I now have the stage 2 and am doing around 70 consistant best GPS 70.4 my RPM's 7950. Am having prop repitched to try to get a little more speed.

Great numbers,I have 36hrs. on my RXT ran it today in 98 air temp,87 water temp and was getting 7950 rpms and 64.7 mph gps.
Do put on the wedge and intake grate BUT DO NOT REMOVE OPAS ON THE RXT,get rivas Competition O.P.A.S. Kit, This kit blocks the paddles in the up position.I have heard from others that have removed theirs that they wish they did not. http://www.rivayamaha.com/RivaStore/...O.P.A.S.%20Kit
