? for anyone with a modded rxp
do any of you guys have a spin out problem when nailing the gas from a dead stop?? its not like cavitation its just like there is no much low end torque that the prop will spintoo hard and hit teh rev limiter a couple of times before it starts to really pull, it has been an issue since i got my ski, for whoever doesnt know, it is pretty much a riva level 2 but from ppg, ss wear ring, trued hull, riva grate, impeller is in perfect shape so is teh wear ring, i just was gonna see if anyoen else has this problem

What prop are you running? Could it be that you need a steeper pitch?

repitched solas from ppg....i could need a steeper prop, im just curiopus if anyone elses skis do this too

Yes, my friend Jarrett's PPG repitched does the exact same thing. You can kind of feel in in the seat like someone is kicking the back of the ski, right?

yes sir, it still takes off hard just hits the rev limiter a few times,

That's it. I'm trying to get him to try a steeper pitched prop. But he loves how it performs other than the holeshot.

I don't think I have that problem. I have the Level I PPG with RR ICU and a powerpipe (don't know what stage that is) and I just seem to have snappy acceleration unless trim is above 3/4 and then I'm just coming out of the water.

I just installed Riva stage 2 on two skis (Everything except the new prop), my ski runs great 8100 rpm and i'm walking away from my brothers RXP who has Stage 1 GPS 71.5 mph sorry we did not have a GPS so I do not know what speed we are getting the problem is my buddy ski is spinning out takes about 4 seconds to plane once on the plane he is also turning 8100 rpm, we are using the stage 1 Solas prop, any suggestions??

well that issue sounds like a wear ring, it doesnt take me longer to plane, it still takes off hard as hell it just hits the rev limiter a few times, you probably have a worn out plastic wear ring, i just cant seem to get it propped right so that it wont spin out, im gonna call glen today and see what we can do

Do you know what would be awesome (or some other 80's phrase describing excellent), a trouble shooting section in this forum to read something like an owner's manual where you look in the back of it for the frequently asked questions/trouble shooting.
It could read something like this:
Cavitation or hesitation at acceleration or holeshot.
Then under it could read something like this:
1. Check wear ring.
2. Lose 15 pounds.
3. Get more mods.
4. Ensure PWC is in water
Just an idea
