    No spark!!

I was riding my ski last Sunday when it just died. It would crank over but not fire. Got her home and searched and searched on this site. I hoped it would be a bad water temp sensor. I unplugged the sensor and installed a 10K 1 watt resistor on the line going to the ECU...nothing. My gauge cluster works fine. What is my next move? Fuses are not blown

BTW my ski is in my sig now with about 60hrs.

do you know for sure its not firing (like no spark) ?

maybe the throttle cable is not returning to idle

    ooops

does it beep real loud at you when trying to crank?

    check the fuses
check the connection main plug into the CDI from the stator cover
    maybe bad module
    start/stop switch

If you're getting no spark, I'd start looking for a loose ground to the CDI unit. If that doesn't solve it, you might check the magnets on the flywheel or more likely the pickups on the flywheel cover.

Some folks have said that my kill switch may be bad. Well, with the lanyard in my motor turns over with no spark, of course! Gauge cluster lights up with no alarm. Could my kill switch actually be bad? I thought that it either worked or not and if bad it would not allow motor to turn over. What do ya'll think

Stock CDI? check your water temp sensor on the CDI box to add the above ideas.

I checked the WT sensor by placing a resistor in the plug to no avail. If I remove resistor and crank the damn thing it squawks like hell. I was going to replace the WT sensor just for giggles but that bitch requires something special WTF. I almost knocked the "wings" off to get access to it!

So I guess my kill switch is not the problem?

    BTW stock CDI

just plug the other sensor into the CDI box,no need to put the probe in the pipe.Just to test it.

Update...I dropped off the ski to have someone find my electrical gremlins. Well he told me that he thinks it is the CDI. That part ain't cheap!!!! Is there a performance alternative? The motor itself is stock but ski is not see sig. I would like to shave head offseason but that is about it.
