    Rectifiers

Hey guys, just wanted to share this,it's something worth looking at the next time you're in the garage.I have noticed a few times that my ski would run for half an hour or so then just die, wouldn't turn over at all and really battling to start aswell.I looked for everything then noticed the rectifier in the bottom of the hull.It looks like the wires corroded and melted together, luckily no fires.Btw,it bolts to the side of the fuse box for anyone who doesn't know.I've just fitted the new one so it's just abit of a heads up.

Do these just burn themselves out?? Is there anything we can do to stop it from happening?

I did a search on this and someone mentioned salt water corrosion,i've only been in saltwater a few times this year so i have no idea how long it's been like that for,i know the previous owner had it in the sea all the time though.

I ride mainly salt also. I spray the inside of the hull with fluid film regularly after riding. I'll keep close attention to those connections
