    '09 pistons in '07 250x

question for those that have fitted '09 pistons only into a stock pulley earlier '07-'08 ski in your honest opinion was it worth it and what gains did you achieve. my motor is coming out for other maintenance and i might go the extra and install pistons.
    cheers corey

I have not done it but have some insight. The 09 pistons need the cams to compliment them. I do, however, question the benifits vs cost vs the potential for trouble. I have a fairly stock 07 but ride with a stock 09 all the time. The differance in performance is not that much differant.

What do you think the problems could be? and the one benefit I see is higher compression and the cost isnt that much if you are going to be in there already as you can get all four pistons for under $200.00.............

it´s not much gain just with just the pistons but my oil is still lightbrown after 6hour riding very hard ,if you ad the ECU and 09 prop you would feel more

If a person were going to have the pistons out i agree that i would use 09 pistons and would consider the 09 cams also. If you are going into a motor "just" to install the pistons i wouldn't......too much chance of something going wrong. Don't know of anything that will go wrong just too many things can go wrong. The old saying.....if it ain't broke don't fix it.
