Do I need to remove oil pump to run premix?

I just found that the oil pump isn't working. Can I block off the lines on it and just run premix? Or do I really need to remove the pump and get the block off kit. How about just temporarily as I don't have a block off kit handy now.

Welcome to GH. You should remove the pump, especially if its faulty.

It is very easy to make up your own block off plate.
