    F/S - '06 RXP $3,500 - Needs engine repair

I'm going to sell my '06 SeaDoo RXP because it needs an engine repair that I do not have the time or the tools to complete.

The engine has a cracked front oil pump housing and the engine shut down due to low oil pressure. I pulled the supercharger and spark plugs and they're in perfect condition. The engine still turns over but there are aluminum shavings in the oil filter.

I'm not sure what failed, but I'm guessing it's either an oil pump failure or a spun bearing.

I live in the Seattle area and the ski has 140 hours.

Please feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

This thing would be in my garage already if you were close.

    Dang it!

Yeah, the distance is really a killer.

It would be great to sell the ski to a forum member because I'm really curious to learn what the "root cause" of the failure is. I know that the front oil pump housing is cracked, but what caused that to happen?

Are you asking him if he will take $1500?

I hope not. I would pay a lot more and have it shipped!
It is just $3500+ Shipping is too high.

Mason Lake if you will include shipping to me in your price I will take it.

No, 3500 is a bit much IMO. 2K for a blown up ski is the going range. By the time you buy an engine, you're getting close to the cost of buying a running machine.

I've seen some pretty nice skis here in the 6500 range.

Yea, I guess that is what I am seeing also.
The difference with me is I have a engine sitting in my garage ready to go and his will just get parted out.

If he will get it to me for the $3500 I will take it.
    No more. For sure!

Thanks for the offer - I'll give it some serious thought.

I'd love to sell the ski to you because I'm really curious to learn what the "root cause" of the failure was. The ski lived an easy life - it never had a supercharger washer failure, had regular oil changes with BRP parts and only had 140 hours. I can't figure out why the oil pump housing would crack?

The only problem with doing a deal is the distance. I'm trying to figure out if I have time to make a road trip?
