    Polaris pile o*#@(*&^>?""}{

Took Polaris Hilton to Laughlin. Fired up and ran like a MONSTA!! and after about 30-45 minutes.....BLOWRrrrrrrrr........6200 down to death.
Rear piston BAKED!!! (PTO-pain the oss)
Sorry Beerdart, looks like I cooked your fine replacement.
I dont quite get it. Had about 5 hours on it and it ran great. After about 3 hours I started riding it, you know, like a Polaris guy. Did starts and stops. Slow going, varied throttle.
    Thing was running great.
Good thing I had 3 other skis with to ride. But I'm really bummed.
Looks like I'm going to get those cyls. drilled out soon Kevin.

    So, heres the plan:
Going to take 'er apart and see if bottom end ok and if a hone and piston will do. Would love to be riding Polaris again this season. If no... then I'm going to tear it apart and redo a buncha stuff. I have a light flywheel, 6* wedgee, need an extended pump. Punch it out to 780. Ocean Pro head, need to get some reeds. Get crank indexed and welded. And any other goodies I can find. I may find a builder to do the bottom end, and do the top myself.
I did do a sucessful leak down test earlier, but I suspect the rear seal? Does that sound like a possibility? It looks like it got HOT!!
Could bad cooling (plugged somewhere) do this?
Any help and advice always appreciated. Also, do I need to re-jet if I go to 780? or are 750 jetting w/780 settings ok?

Back to the drawing board. I dont have my desktop here, so I will post pix of the carnage sometime this week.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm bummed. Going to Lake Naciamento this Thurs. and was really looking forward to riding the Polaris. Going to take th 12f and the Sea Poo now. Dern it!
Thinking about selling 3 old ones and buying another 4 stroke. Would have 2-4 strokers and of course, keep the cursed SLT. Its like a bad habit. Must be the teal.

    Sorry to hear about that.

Do you not check your wash after every ride until you're sure all is good?

Easy to catch a prob before the dreaded hole appears.

LOL! You've got to admit, that teal is addictive!!! Or is it the purple? Maybe it's the pink?

Riding my SLT is the only time in my life I wish I was color blind!!!!

Hey Eric. Missed you this weekend. Maybe see you at the nationals. Or maybe before. Hope all is well. As you can see Polaris Hilton got hot again.
    I'm so bummed.
    No crying towels needed.

Sorry I couldn't make it down there Rod. Deb didn't feel up to it. She's a bit nervous about the chemo she gets this a.m. Been worrying about it all weekend. Dr. gave her some happy pills, but she won't take them. Perhaps I should. That would be for recreational purposes only.

Sorry to hear about Miss Hilton bro! You know you don't need to pull the heads to check wash right? An $8 flash light is all you need. I'd pressure test the ole gal before you tear her apart just to see if the rear seal is a problem.
Yes you would need to re-jet if you go 780. You should get some reed spacers too.

Where you get that cute lite? What do you think is best method of leak check? I stuffed hand balls in the intake last time. Took awhile to get a seal. Sorry you couldn't go. Fully understand. Best to you guys.
Let me know how you'd do it, and I'll try. Not going to tear down 'til next week. Leaving to go to Naciamento on Thurs.
Oh well, off to work. Will be thinkin' 'bout ya & fam.

Hm Depot or Lowes would have the light. I picked it up at True Value.
The balls will work. I made caps out of aluminum and bolt them on with gaskets.
