    Polaris SL 750 Electrical Help

    I just got a "95 Polaris Sl 750 that seems to run great. I'm new to the jet ski world and really love this thing. After having it on the water this weekend, everything seemed to be in good shape other than the MFD is not working or the Trim. I have been looking at other posts here and have checked the fuse in the electrical box and thats about it. Any ideas where to start and get this troubleshooted in the right direction?

    Welcome

    No need to post the same question in multiple areas.

    Click below for the service manuals, and other useful info.

    How did you check the MFD fuse?
    Sometimes they can look good, but still be bad.

    Also check for any signs of moisture or corrosion inside the electrical box, or on the terminal board. You may need to check both sides of the board.

    You can find more MFD related info here;
    Multi-Function Display (MFD)

    Unplug the MFD connector behind the MFD, and check for battery voltage between the Red/Purple and Black wires on the connector.

    Sorry about the multiple posts. I'm new to this and wasn't sure where to go. I checked the fuse in the black electrical box and seemed fine , but replaced it anyway and still not working. Is there another fuse somewhere else I'm not aware of. Thanks for your help.

    Also, do you think the mdf and trim not working are related in any way?

    Trim only works when the engine is running, or the bilge button is held down (if you have a bilge button).

    Does your mfd show any signs of life, i.e. faded numbers or letters when you press the mode key? If so then you can probably repair it. I have the same ski & I just fixed mine. I also just fixed the trim motor. Mine was rusted up but once I got the motor to free up it was good to go. You can search this forum for both repairs. Not too hard if you're handy with a wrench.

    no signs of life at all for the mdf. It displays nothing at all. Do you think that would be a good place to start for the trim (the motor). How did you fix your mdf?

    Possibly related, but it is best to just diagnose each one separately.

    The Trim motor can be tested by unplugging the motor, then connecting it directly to battery power. The service manual covers the test details.

    Check for 12 volt power at the MFD wire harness connector behind the MFD. Should measure 12 volt battery power between Red/Purple and Black wires.
