    Virage I problems

    I have a 2004 virage I and a few weeks ago the check engine light came on and ski went into limp mode. Removed the seat and found the water injection solenoid that goes on the head pipe was broken. Never worked on a FI polaris with this part so I am not to sure what it does. Looks like it feeds water to the ECU. I have tried to locate the part but no one has it or can tell me where to get it. Can it just be bypassed?

    Welcome

    Click below for the service manual, and other useful info

    The water injection solenoid is only on the two cylinder fuel injected engines, and it is not a critical component. You can disconnect it and remove it.

    Be sure to cap off the water line securely, and seal the manifold where it mounted.

    Make sure the small water lines to the stator cover and EMM are still in working condition, and not kinked.

    I don't think a failed water injection solenoid would cause limp mode, however.

    How exactly did the solenoid fail?

    You can read the trouble codes from the EMM;

    will not cause limp mode .only soft code which will come up on wrench when codes downloaded .Disconnect it and throw it away .You can fool the computer into thinking it is there by wiring in a 5 watt resistor in its place .have done it but not worth the effort .you have issues else where

    Do you recall what ohm value the resistor would need to be?

    The value of the solenoid = 5watts of resistance .It is a ceramics block and puts out a bit of heat but also puts out the code .Let me find one I did and post picture .
