2003 gtx gauge is completely out

Bought a used gtx and the gauge is completely out. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to start in trouble shooting. I have no pubs or documentation to go from. I would appreciate any assistance.

The gauge also registers the hours,so with a new gauge you are on zero again!

The used one for $ 200 is a very good price, ask how much hours are on it,because the value of your seadoo also depends on the hours.

Rich is correct for the '06 and up skis, but for the '05s and older the hours are kept in the ECU. Every time I swap out an ECU the gauge reads the total hours of that particular ECU.

Thanks Big D, could there be something downline that can cause the Gauge to go out like a fuse. Just want to make sure before I replace the gauge it's not something else.

05 what is the ECU...and I'm estimating that is something outside of the gauge that holds the operating hours. making sure I'm reading this right. an 03 ski operating hours are held in the ECU and not the gauge so my correct hours will be present when a gauge is reinstalled.

Correct. The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) is the square black box on top of the intake manifold.

Also, you can use an '02-'05 GTX, RXT, or RXP gauge. '02 & '03 gauges were prone to failure from moisture, '04 & '05 gauges were improved.

Thanks 05, some good info about the year and reliability issues.

I had this happen to mine and all it was was a fuse. 2 dealers tried to sell me new gauge clusters. Check your fuses. I believe it is a 1 amp or 2 amp fuse.
