Pros / Cons of antique license plate?

Some of you know that i have a '69 Corvette. I hardly ever drive it. It just sits in my workshop with a cover over it.

Was thinking about getting an antique plate for it. Anyone know the pros/cons to this? I heard that maybe insurance is cheaper?

    Thanks for your input!

Hey Jerry, did a little checking. From what I understand, you will save in the long run,as there is a one-time fee of $50 for antique plates in Louisiana. Here is the link.. https://web01.dps.louisiana.gov/omv1...e?OpenDocument

Since the plates are special ordered, it takes approximately 2-4 months for a Personalized Antique license plate to be manufactured. The applicant must have a current license plate on the vehicle before ordering this type plate

This car probably wont even see 500 miles per year.

I just found out the best perk to having the plate. 25/50/25 full coverage insurance is only $89 every six months thru State Farm

Jerry, I had QQ plates for the Torino, and Antique automotive insurance, which was way cheap for lots of coverage, real value that you pick, it does have limited mileage like 2500 miles or so, I can`t remember the name of the insurance company, but it is world wide, American something...PR...
