    Timing Chain

For those who have replaced the timing chain, what needs to be done? Does the flywheel need to come off or what? And is there any way to tell if the chain is still ok? Mine did not break but my SC gear failed. There were NO pieces in the oil screen in the PTO housing. I just don't want to get this thing going only for the timing chain to let go in a few hrs. Thanks in advance

Replacing the timing chain is a big job. You have to split the cases to get the chain around the crank sprocket.

My ski is in the shop right now because the timing chain broke, about 30hrs after the supercharger washers went. Engine has to be pulled and disassembled, big job.
