    MFD hours wrong

New to polaris so bear with me. I bought a 2000 genesis with 53 hours, I took battery out to charge, put it back in, now reads 553 hours....Thanks for any input.

    Sometimes this happens.

Not exactly sure what causes the MFI hours to advance to big numbers, but bouncing of the battery connections while installing the battery is the prime suspect.

The older MFD sometimes do the opposite, and the hours reset to zero.

My '97 8 pin went from 58 to 160 something hours last summer for unknown reason. then this spring it started over at 0 hrs.

oh well, the POS mfd barely works anyways. When it's shot, i'm just putting a good tach on it.
