    657 base gasket question

    im puting a new top end in my 93 xp this week and was wondering if i should use anything on the base gasket. it doesn't look like they used anything on the original one.

    i can get that at any hardware store or marina?

    Some marinas carry it. Basically you need a anaerobic gasket sealer.. NOT a gasket maker (like RTV).

    Make sure any you buy is rated for hi temp and is safe with a oil/gas environment (won't degrade).

    You put VERY little on the gasket and mating surfaces.. Just a light sheen, no blobs, no beads.
