    given the wrong plugs

when i started the riding season picked up my usual box of spark plugs from my motorcycle/watercraft dealership,"cold starting " was fine no stalling or hesitation, very reliable, just change them and showed the jet ski mechanic there, just to see , there condition , i was given ngk-BR8ES-5422 INSTEAD OF NGK-BR8ES-7986-11 , the gap is "slightly different, the 11 being wider ,was i losing performance?

I don't think so. Britt Motorsports told me to use BR8ES last year. I happened to look this year, and it says BR8ES-11 too. I didn't notice any performance changes.

I haven't really ridden much though, since my MFD is acting up.

the 11 represents wider gap...losing performance, I doubt it.

put the right plugs in Dave!
your worrying me dave, first you bounce off your ski, then you don`t check your parts

    misunderstood

what iwas trying to say i,ve been "riding with the 5422 instead of the 11's i,m going to put the 11's in to see if there is any difference, and yes manual says 11, BTW , mechanic says "color" of insulator for a 2- stroke is acceptable

hahahahaha, there will be NO difference, just that the 11`s are made to have the wider gap, same heat range.
technically, opening the gap on a plug that was designed for a smaller gap, although you can use them, is not the same as using the correct plugs, unless you have a gapping tool such as Jacabs or equivalent to set the gap/ground electrode over the center electrode squarely and not with a pair of needle nose or screw drivers... technically theres more but not necc...
