    96xp aftermarket pipes?

After I get the xp I just bought back into good running order I'm going to do some mods. I've read alot about pipes and One question I have is what exactly is the difference between a spec 1 and a spec 2 factory pipe. The spec 2 you will make more power with right? Also how do the factory pipes compare to say a Coffman's (spelling?) pipe?. This is for rec ridding. The other mods I'm thinking of doing are things like a prop, nozzle, head, aftermarket FA's,trim tabs thats what id Like to start with. So what do you guys consider to be the best pipe.

The Spec I uses the stock exhaust manifold. The Spec II includes it's own. The Spec I is best for rec riding. The Coffman is a racing high rpm pipe like the Spec II.

I thought on the factorypipe website it showed the spec1 coming with a manifold. I wont be racing. Is going from a oem pipe to a spec one worth it or would i be better suited just going right to a spec2 ?

has anybody tried running EGT gauges on a spec 2 setup? I could see it as being a nice setup for helping with tunning and maybe saving a piston or 2.
