RXP, High Idle, Low RPMS? --Help me out!

So I just recently installed the following onto a completely stock 2004 RXP:

    • Riva Gen II Drop in-wheel (green wheel)
    • 42 # Injectors
    • X/S Intercooler
    • 4" Air Intake
    • Riva Waterbox
    • RE Block-Offs
    • Top Loader Intake grate
    • Catch Can
    • Strainer
    • 15/20r
    • Riva Washers
I started it on the hose today for the first time in a month or two, and it ran great. Idle RPM's were around the 1800 that I normally see, and it sounded awesome.

I finished up and brought it to the lake. Started it up, again running great at 1800 RPM. I slowly got onto it, and across the length of the lake finally got it wide open.

The ski pulled hard but only got to about 7100-7200 RPMS @ 65.8 MPH.

When I got off the throttle, idle shot up to about 3500 RPM!

I checked the obvious with the throttle cable, there was enough slack for it to close all the way.

What do you guys think? I'm going on vacation in 10 days and I really would like to see this thing going full bore!

Check your Throttle Body, make sure your getting full open and full closed. If it's hanging up, you can SOMETIMES save it by lubing it up real good with WD-40 or similar product but if not, I found soaking the TB in PB Blaster works awesome. I freed mine up from complete lock-down after letting my ski sit outside with the cover on for a month.
I felt the stress in my thumb throttle when it happened to me though, I could tell it was the TB hanging up.

The high idle sounds like a vacuum leak ... look for a leaking IC blockoff plug or a cracked intake manifold possibly ...

It sounds like you may have a boost/ vacuum leak at the manifold somewhere. Since you just installed the xs ic I would take a closer look at the IC blockoff and make sure it is tight and sealed and also make sure that the fittings in the blockoff are in and tight if it has them.

The throttle is allowing for max open/close without resistance
Check your Throttle Body, make sure your getting full open and full closed

I just checked the I/C block off and it seems to be on there as tight as it can possibly go. I even used "Silicone on the mating surface" as the instructions recommended.

If you made 11 simultaneous changes, then there are 2048 combinations of changes that might be good or might be bad.... Ron

    Well that's great news.

How big of a crack on the intake manifold are we talking for the ski to run like this..?

Im thinking it might have to do with the three holes on my blockoff that are completely open!

haha I assumed that those were tight when I was putting the blockoff on at 4 A.M last night.

I'll never be able to find those in the hull... anyone have any ideas for blocking those off..?
