What should RPMs be for a stock RXP-X?

What should RPMs be for a stock RXP-X? Do the RPMs increase in the first 10 hours? I was just running 7700 RPMs in 88 degree air/water at 520 feet or so.

Some say that rpms increase at 10 hours and some say they dont. I did have rpm increase once above 8 or 9 hours.
THe perfect rpm on the X is supposely 8,000 rpm. Myself and others report that 8,060 rpm is perfect.
Then some see best speeds above 8,100 rpm but supposely the engine will start to cut timing at that rpm and more as you get closer to 8,200 rpm.

I would get 10 hours on it and then see what rpms are at if your not already before doing any repitching.

You should be at 8000 minimum.

    Most have 8060 - 8080.

    You'r missing about 300 rpm's = 3 mph.

Could be due to the hot climat, but still very low rpm's

Your R's are a little low. Can you GPS your speeds? What are you running the trim at? Too high or too low on trim will take some R's away. We had four stock RXPXs at first and the rpms were all over the place (7960-8140) on stock skis.

Yeah, that was my next plan to GPS it. What should it be running stock MPH wise?

Hey, Do you know Rideallday(Todd) and/or 2Fun4U(John)? They have some slightly modded RXPXs. If you do, maybe they would let you try out their skis before you start modding.

I do know those fellers as well as my old buddy, Franko. Looking forward to checking out a modded RXP-X at some point. I'd like to add some performance to it if I can do so without losing holeshot or introducing the buck.
