    Diesel PWC

Why haven't we yet seen a diesel engine on a pwc?
According to me the probs to solve are:
    -low rpm , 5000 max
    - big engine cc instead other fuel
benefits: more Nm , more miles done, less pit stop in endurance for fuel.

    What do you think?

Instead to have gpl or gas is it possible? But nothing better than the price of full !

    Cost more than anything, IMO.

A turbo diesel has so much torque, it would rip your arms out when you hit it. They would have to spend big money on an all aluminum engine.

The low rpm would be kick ass. The diesel would have enough torque to run a 2 or 3 speed tranny. Cruze at high speed at low rpm and save fuel doing it.

    It's all win IMO.

even a small diesel engine is going to be far to heavy for an application like PWC's
the response to pulling the throttle would be a little disappointing also

I don't think so! I've been in a turbo diesel jet boat before, and it pulled like a whore!

Just got my new Diesel Power magazine yesterday and saw an article with a diesel-powered (benz motor I believe) Polaris.
