How much return on a GP1200R part-out?
I'm not very familiar with the market for Yamaha stuff, so I was curious about how much I might expect to get out of an '01 GP1200R by parting it out? Not sure I want to put the work into the hull, so I was thinking of parting everything and junking the hull. Everything is good but the hull is rough. I figure it's worth a little more than a couple grand as is? Ballpark guesses from anyone who's been down this path?

Really depends on the parts that are on the ski and the condition of them. If it's all stock, it's really not worth that much. But if it's loaded up with aftermarket parts then it won't be too hard to get a couple grand for everything.

I'd be interested in the complete motor with carbs (if its all stock and running) if you decide to part it out. Mike

definately a lot of work, but if the hulls in bad shape you will certainly get more out of it by parting it. It's just going to take some time to get the money.
FIgure $1600 for all the engine parts and electrics
2-500 for all the driveline stuff, depending on year and condition
500-1200 for the hull and bodywork

Thanks for all of the feedback. Gives me something to work with. I don't mind the work. Taking stuff apart is the best part of a project! Ebay posting and shipping is the worst of it. It's just too blazin' hot to get into bodywork. The boat's not totally stock, I haven't had a chance to give it a good inspection, but it's got A/M flame arrestors and a D-plate. Not sure what else, yet.

The upper deck is in very good condition with the exception of a small spot where the nose hit something a bit hard - about 2" diameter. The bottom needs to be sanded, filled, and blocked to get rid of all the bumps & scrapes. There is an unfinished repair by the previous owner on the right front of the lower deck above the water line. Looks like they thumped something and filled it with white epoxy?
