Stereo done right? Need component help...
I am currently putting together a complete audio system for my 2008 RXT. I plan on using a poly-planer(waterproof amp) with some sort of speakers for the audio equipment, maybe some bullet speakers. I am not sure where to mount them yet. I want them to project towards the driver and the passangers.
I am looking for a voltage meeter for a marine application. Has anyone found or used one of these on their craft? Ideally I would like it to be arround 3 inches in diameter.
I plan on mounting the amp in the hull somewhere. Then on the forward panel of the glove box I am going to put:
-the Auxilarry plug in(Ipod connection)
-the voltage guage(digital or analoge)
-the dissconnect toggle switch for the whole circuit
-the volume control
all these are going to be flush mounted and keep water tight seal like the stock panel.
I am also looking for a component that will be inline with the power going to the amp and meter which will cut off the power when the voltage is low?
Im am not much of an ellectrical person.
Any suggestions jet ski gods?
I want the system to perform well and aviod being stranded.

If your worried about draining the battery by using the stereo and getting stranded, I'd put 2 batteries in it, and a dual battery charger /switch. And have one of the battery's dedicated for the stereo

Here is what I did. I too wanted an inline voltage trip that would kill the system if the battery voltage dipped to low but that got complicated.
I only used a 50 watt amp and I have ran the system for 1 hour cranked up and the ski still started with no problems.
