    adjustable nozzle

So I just ordered an adjustable nozzle for my P-X. I had a 15/21 and was turning 8120-40. Then I put on a 15/22R and rpm's went up to 8160-80. I don't understand how the revs could go up with a bigger prop. Any ideas which one I should run with the adjustable nozzle? Guess I just have to do some testing. I have 4" Kanaflex and an R&D grate, only mods. I need to lower revs and pick up some mph.

Dave, I would have just kept the 15/21 and sent it to Erik at www.speedfreeksracing.com for his setback mod and repitch ($145) !!! I wanted sick acceleration over stock prop, so he tweeked my 15/22r to a 12.5/21 and the acceleration is incredible.

I raced 2 stock 2008 P-X's today several times against my 3 seat couch T-X and I smoked them both so bad it was ridiculous, I mean 30 + boat lengths ahead! My ski leaped out in front immediately and just pulled rapidy away - I was surprised! I'm running high 72 consistantly and 73.6 (96deg and 89deg water) on the fuel buzzer with stock nozzle.

Erik will tell you that 8140-8160 is actually perfect rpm for X boats.

Your props are probaly NOT 15/21 or 15/22, only a Watcon guage is going to tell the truth!

Most people run 82-83mm on the nozzle, BUT you will kill your hole shot some and gain some top end speed.

Do you want to be the first to cross the line (acceleration) or top end speed or a compromise?

    good luck

What 15/21 prop to you speak of.???????
THe only solas stamped 15/21 prop that i have seen was my R and D pro pitch T-X prop. IT was suppose to be like a 13/23 pitch. I measured it to be a 14/22 in my eyes and my 15/22 props that I have had measured arround 14.5 - 15/21 - 22 out of the box.

Thats the reason i ask what 15/21 you have???

It's a Solas SRX 15/21 that I got from PPG. Probably should just run that one and play with the nozzle when it comes.
