1996 polaris sl700 ignition update
Stator went bad, went to order ignition update kit gen2, no longer avalible, Now its updated again to gen3 ignition update: STATOR,CDI,COIL,AND IGNITION WIRES. I WAS TOLD THAT YOU
HAD TO BUY A NEW FLYWHEEL ALSO, THAT YOUR OLD ONE WOULDN'T WORK WITH THE GEN3 UPDATE. "IS THIS TRUE" OR IS THE OLD FLYWHEEL
COMPATABLE WITH THE GEN3 UPDATE...

I'm pretty sure this was answered already.
No,as far as we know you do not need to replace the flywheel.
If they have it in stock, compare it to your flywheel.
