    cavitation cause

    are those spaces in the pics are the cause of the cavitation?

    yes. And this below will help reduce it. Installs in the pump shoe. I also recomment you replace the stock intake grate with an aftermarket grate. The stock intake grate is dangerous. It can cause overstuffing of the pump and an dangerous situation where the ski will take a hard turn and toss you off.

    will this improve preformance? and ..it is possible to fill is with silicon?
    why yamaha did those spaces?

    Those spaces are one of the causes of cavitation. The pump seal kits / pump plug kits do a pretty good job of filling the voids and reducing cavitation.

    You could probably fill them with the right polysulfide compounds... I am sure I have read that people do it with 5200 FC. However, the pump plug kits are not overly expensive, available through greenhulk's store, and known to work.

    Also, do a search for sealing the pump shoe. This will also significantly reduce cavitation.
