    Broken steering cable

I've never had to do a steering cable on any 4 tec ski until this past week i did 3 at the shop. Wouldn't you know it the 4th one i have to do is my own! I went to a huge raft up party about 20 miles from the ramp and broke the cable almost immediatly upon getting there. I have UMI so it was easy to see the issue after removing the glove box. the sheathing above the adjustment nut locked onto the actual cable and the rigid portion of the cable bent. I jammed the sheathing all the way up to the heim joint and rode all the way home in nasty 3-4 chop and then a thunderstorm with 40 mph winds with only being able to make right turns. What a day. I wish there was a heavy duty cable for us.

and i thought 2miles in big chop and thunderstorm was bad...i cannot imagine how worn out you had to be at the ramp.

Tired enough that walking the ski onto the trailer in chest deep water with waves breaking over the trailer seemed like it took an hour.

when i was idleing around it wasn't too bad but as soon as there was more stress on the nozzle at speed it went to helll. The only way i can describe it is when making right turns the steering cable was like pulling a rope. When trying to make left turns the steering cable was like trying to push a rope. (you may have to try this on your kitchen table to fully understand lol)

Yeah...I would not have been fit to be around when I finally got to the ramp.

the new replacement cable is thinner too. I hope it isn't weaker. Thank god it's only $60. Looks like i'm ordering two of them.
