98 GSXL bogging midrange
Recent problem: Acceleration between 3500-4000 rpm results in engine bogging down. Aggressive throttle starts from idle will kill the engine. If you feather the throttle through the range everything is good.
The other day, it was really difficult to get through this rpm range, 20 seconds, now with feathering it takes 3-5 seconds. Max rpm is in the 6700-6800 range.
Gray fuel lines are replaced
Main fuel filter clean.
Rave valves clean.
I) haven't touched the carbs - will be the final check. Never tore into them, but not afraid of learning about them.
2) Fuel System pressurization? I noticed some bleed coming out the vent under the front of the seat (but on the other hand, once it gets through the mid range problem it runs fine)
The last 2 seasons have been full of headaches.
Dead VTS (disconnected electrically now)
Replaced MPEM (thanks to the VTS)
Leaky oil tank - arrrrghhh (not fixed yet, just keep 1/3 tank
Missing siphon tube - kept sucking water in
Fuel Baffle failure - bypassed the internal fuse
Thanks for the insights

your problem is in your carbs. go ahead and pull them. you will open up one side to gain access to the filter. take it out and spray it out with some carb cleaner and a Q-tip. on the MAG carb its the side where the fuel pump is and same for the PTO carb
