Sponson Install 750 help?
Do I need to put on both sponson peices?
See attached picture,
I have been looking at some pictures of skis with sponsons on this forum and some use the narrow runner with the bigger fin, and some just use the bigger fin, any preference? I don't have any holes so I am using the Polaris guide to install my inserts,
The guide also say to follow parallel to the bottom of the ski, the last 6 inches of the ski has a 1/2" rise in the hull,
Do I follow the line to the imaginary bottom under the rise, or to the actual real bottom on the end?
It will affect the angle of the sponson to angle down slightly or be even with the top rail,

You use both pieces. Use the long piece to layout the holes like you would OE sponsons. You measure down 2-3/8" from the bond flange like the diagram for the sl hull, and parallel it with the step in the hull. The front hole center works out to be 2-13/16" from under the bond flange (to center of hole).
The long strip is used to space the sponson off of the hull, and it allows you to move the sponson forward or back as you like.
The pic with the upside down hull (95 sl650), shows me pointing to the step your sponson should be parallel with.

One more thing... Once i found and marked center for the rear hole, I used a framing square as a straight edge, and used a ruler to measure up from the bottom of the step to lay out a center line for the holes. Then I placed the sponson over the center line to finish the layout. My sponsons were not very straight to begin with. Kinda warped. Like me.
