    Differences between Keihin LE and CDK Carbs

    The polaris manual states that the virage/freedom needs a Keihin 40mm LE Carburetor rebuilt kit. Where the other models require a CDK. There most be some kind of difference between the two? Can anyone shed some light? There are some websites that have the two difference types of kits 4 sale. I just rebuilt my Keihin carb with an SBT rebuilt CDK kit and found some problems with the mid to low end. I'm sure it's not the kit but I'm curious to know the differences.

    My problem is the ski wants to stall when planning off. If I can manage to get it above 3k, then the thing takes off...

    --Pop off pressure is 20 PSI
    --Starts easy and idles nice
    --Top end is great (around 53 mph)
    --Low speed screw is right around 1-3/4 turns

    I made the same mistake in using the SBT kit, and personally, it was junk. The throttle had no snap to it, and tended to bog real easily. To me, it was worth it to go ahead and buy the genuine Keihin kit, which is twice as much costwise, and rebuild this season. The result was exponentially better throttle response, especially in the low to midrange. Just a piece of personal experience!

    Thanks for the reply... It sounds like your experiencing the same problem I'm having, all though mine is to the point were it wants to stall.

    Still looking to find out the differences between the Keihin LE and CDK?

    Couldnt tell you bud! Im only familiar with 1994-1998 boats, which is what Ive owned so far...

    I just took a quick look, but I havent found any info on LE carbs yet
