    Another problem that eats pistons

Center piston went last season on my '95 Sl 750. After a new piston and gasket set figured a set of new needle & seats were in order. Complete go over and cleaning of carbs and set new needles to 15 psi pop off. Crank & crank and finally get her going. Out for a ride and she wont even go up on plane? end of season and frustrated put her away for the winter. After some reading and thinking figured the fuel pump was contaminated with piston/aluminum. Replaced fuel pump (3 outlet style) and cranked away. Figured the fuel supply or return must be plugged. follow lines to tank and discover supply line is rusted off on top off sending unit. completely broke away in my hands. figure she was sucking air and leaned out taking the piston. and then would not draw enough fuel to charge the carbs after the rebuild. appears this part is no longer available. Any suggestions on repairing or purchasing replacement units for this boat?

    Thanks
    Alan

John Zigler or Beach_Blonde might have used parts.

Possibly a different part from another model year would fit, but I couldn't tell you which.

Anybody in the Classifieds parting out a compatible model (what other years/models used the same part)?

If there was any flexible fuel line inside the tank, be sure to replace it with new.

The old hoses develop cracks and air leaks, which causes problems.
