    What model year is your MSX 140?

    Any warning messages or red lamp on the display?

    You have confirmed no spark when it does?

    Any service history on this machine?

    Do you know what failed on the previous EMM module?

    Anything else changed recently, or during the previous repair(s)?

    Do you have a spare EMM available to test with?

    When the engine dies, after you let it sit over five minutes, does the NGI display 'wake up' by itself when you crank the engine?

    If not, that indicates that the EMM is also not 'waking up', and the EMM doesn't know the engine is actually cranking

    I suspect something is wrong with the EMM, or the stator/flywheel, or the CPS.

    Check the CPS ohms (should be under 200 ohms).

    Remove the CPS, and inspect the encoder ribs on the flywheel as you hand rotate the engine. Look for any signs of damage or rib wear (the ribs don't normally touch anything).

    You can check for stored EMM service codes;
    How to read Polaris Ficht EMM trouble codes without special software or a computer
    When the Check Engine message comes on, the EMM stores special codes into memory.
    You can read those codes, and find out what the EMM thinks may be the problem.

    Check all the basics too - clean and re-tighten both ends of both battery cables.

    A faulty lanyard or stop switch can also kill the engine, so check those switches for corrosion and proper ohms when open and closed.

    I don't think the MSX 140 has a LR module, but if it did, that can also stop the engine.

    Disconnect your temp sensor when it happens and see if it starts then .Use a coin to bridge the starter solenoid if it doesn't start when you do this .This bypasses the start module. also Make sure that you have water flow through your emm .Feel if it is hot to touch .It may be getting too hot internally and shutting down
