    99xpl question

i have a question about the exhaust where the rubber hose comes off the water box and to go out the back of the ski. what is the plastic box between the water box and where the exhaust goes out the back of the ski. because it looks like a baffle to me. would it hurt to remove it? if i need to take pictures i can.

It's the resonator, a silencer of sorts. Depending on what kind of ski you have you can probably remove remove it and use the waterbox outlet hose from a 98 XP-L. You can rig up your own outlet hose or use the following Sea-Doo parts:

    274 000 694 HOSE-EXHAUST
    274 000 225 WASHER-STABILIZING
    293 250 041 GASKET
    211 500 001 PIPE PLUG SOCKET HD SAE-J-531
    274 000 542 OUTLET-EXHAUST
