    Welcome

    What do you want to buy - just the updated 2000+ CDI and ignition coil?

    not sure what to do now. i have the coil,cdi and stator out i really dont want to pull the stator again. it would be nice to put it back together without guessing if the parts will work together

    Not sure if the stator is currently installed or not, but you have some options.

    What you have now is the following;

    Stator 4010172 (2000-2004 two cylinder)
    CDI # 105 552.02 (Original 1996 part?)
    coil # 105 552.03 (Original 1996 part?)

    You can use any 2000 or newer two cylinder CDI and ignition coil with that new stator. Or you can use the Update Kit CDI and new design ignition coil with that new stator.

    Any new coil (with just two Black/White primary wires) should work with any of the newer CDI - they don't have to both come from the same year or model.

    The original ignition parts are not as reliable as the new design, so I would not try to re-use that old CDI and old coil.

    You can look for a parted out 1996-1999 machine with the update kit, or any twin from 2000-2004 years.

    The best performance might come from using the Hurricane Update CDI 4010448, which has a more aggressive ignition advance curve.

    If buying new, you might do well to buy the entire Hurricane Update Kit 2873022, then sell the new Update stator (it won't neatly install in your 2000+ stator housing anyway).
