TBM Racing Fuel Cell Partnership: FZR/FZS/SHO
I just got word that TBM Racing will be starting to design a additional fuel cell that is removable for extending the range on your Yamaha. As you may or may not know, I ran out of gas in my last endurance race 1/4 of a mile from the finish line. I got 59.4 miles out of the FZR at WOT.
This additional fuel cell will be marketed towards two groups: Endurance Racers & Rec Riders. For Endurance Racing it will be a must, especially if you plan to throw on any mods. Also it will be for the rec rider that wants to have additional range on those long weekend rides with your friends. Based on some discussions the fuel cell will be installed in the rear compartment and optionally in the front and will be removable in under 60 seconds. Once the fuel cell is empty, it will draw from the primary (plastic) tank. If your familiar with TBM's work it will be high quality and factory looking.
Work will begin in August and hopefully be available in September.

Wow, that would be interesting. Any hint on a ball park price for it?

Gotta love TBM. They are so innovative compared to the 'same old' stuff coming out from Riva & R&D.

Thats great to hear for you guys. The Doos have a portion of the fuel tank that the stock air box sits on that after you take out the stock intake is begging for an extra tank to be put in it's place. TBM makes nice stuff. I have their fully adjustable finger throttle with bearings and it was well worth the money. I'd like to see how the Yami tank works out.
