    skat pump

Is a skat set back 14 vein 158mm pump any good for top speeds,or is the 05 still better,or would you sacrafice the mph for the better hook up

No - it is not optimum in a general sense. Thats the choice of Pro closed course racing.

I have a 12 vane 148mm mag with a shaft and a custom short blade skat prop (looks like a dynafly/concord) That is what the offshore racers ran for speed and hookup in the GPR's.

In a superjet superstock you can gain mph just by running a 140mm pump vs. the standrad 144 pump. Most racers ran 140-142 mags in the Superjet.

I tried 140-146mm 12 and 14 vane pumps and the 142 was about the all around best for speed/hookup

I used to not believe that you can run a high number with skat pump, until Kerry work on my pump. Im constantly getting 79+ with 14 vein skat pump and 81++ mph with Kerry on the seat the bottom still there and the hooked up is incredable.
    BTW was running 72mph before.
