'95 sl750 taking water in motor

I just got this jest ski and I'm having trouble getting it to run correctly. it keeps sucking water into the motor somehow. The motor was out of it but as far as I can see all the hoses are routed correctly.

Does anyone know what the issue could be? I would appreciate any help.

    Hello,

I had the same issue last year and I rode around with the seat off onle to discover the water was coming from the small spedo hose at high speed.

    Welcome

Sounds like someone didn't install, or re-install, some of the sealing gaskets on the engine or exhaust correctly.

Does the motor collect water when running out of the water on a garden hose or in the water?

If it collects water while running it on a hose, you are probably not following the proper procedure to run it out of the water.

Thank, I'll check that tommorow, how does that affect it? Theres more water in the foward most cylinder than in the middle and none that i could see in the third.
