    Questions about 1300R purchase

Hello all. I am thinking about picking up a used 2004 GPR 1300R for our beach house. The ski has 129 hours and seems to be in good shape. I admit, I don't know a lot about runabouts, so I have a few questions.

1 - Are there any known issues with the 04 1300Rs?
2 - Do they need to have the Wave Eater clips installed?
3 - How many hours do these motors typically get before they need a rebuild?
    4 - Does the 04 1300R have the cat?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
    Scottie

1 - Are there any known issues with the 04 1300Rs? Pump tunnel should be reinforced and Throttle cable replaced
2 - Do they need to have the Wave Eater clips installed? YES!
3 - How many hours do these motors typically get before they need a rebuild? All depends. That ski does have high hours. Do a compression check of the motor before even thinking about buying it. That'll give you an idea where the motor is at. typically you want somewhere in the area of 120 comp.
4 - Does the 04 1300R have the cat? Yes it does, and you should get a d-plate

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
    Scottie

Only the 03-04 models have PowerValves, so they would need wave eater clips.

The 05-08 GPRs don't have powervalves so they do not require them.

If you are looking for a low hour GPR, I have a 2007 with 17hrs on it if you are interested. Ski is like brand new!!!

You guys mention pump tunnel reinforcement. What is this all about? Are the tunnels actually breaking thru to allow water into the hulls?

Thanks again. I was planning on doing the compression test and I can test ride the ski if I want. What does a 1300r stock run for speed? Do they have the same cavitation problems the older 1200s had? I assume a pump plug would also be in order?
