Question air temp sensor plug. PLEASE HELP

i am using an 05 rxt motor/gauge/harness in my gpr conversion. i have everything hooked up correctly on the harness except for the one male plug (2pin) that comes directly off the gauge cluster. it only extends about 6 inches from the cluster and i cannot figure out where to plug it in. there are no female plugs left and certainly nothing within the vicinity of the gauge cluster

    my theories:

RXT didn't have air temp in the gauge? i dont remember. why would they leave a wire there just hanging?

there should be an actual temp sensor it plugs into that mounts somewhere in the hull

i have cut something out of the wiring when doing the start stop switch mod to convert to yammi switch housing. this doesn't make a lot of sense though coz i would have known if a female plug just got cut off and i can trace all of my wires to something.
