    Broke 78 plus MPH

Had my ski at Jerry's two weeks ago for him to install RR motor mount, his skegs--42lb injectors and his massaged 15/20. He tested it in 90 plus degree air and went 77.0 mph. When I picked up thew ski he sugested I get rid of my homemade outside air intake which went to my Riva Power pipe. I feed it with a 3' ID hose to the power pipe. This hose picked up nothing but outside air. He also felt I should go from my 81 mm venturi to a 82 mm as he was only turning 8300 rpm. ( the fuel tank was 3/4 full during Jerry's speed runs.) When I got back home changed to 82 mm venturi ran in 82 degree air--smooth water and three bars fuel and went 77.8 mph. Yesterday my 4 '' smooth bore hose arrived along with one 90 degree 4'' to 3'' elbow (to hook on to the supercharger) and two 90 degree 4'' to 4'' elbows. Again a filter at the front intake sticking about five inches higher than the small front hood--with the hood being held down by a bunge cord--hood does not bounce and never have had any water injestion. Ok--the results--95 degree air --smooth water--78.2 mph and rpms 8400 with several bumps to 8450--and a little over a half tank of fuel. Never realized how restrictive that 2 5/8 ID Riva Power pipe is. Cuts down big time on the air flow. Again--thanks Jerry for the tip. I am going back to my 81mm venturi to get the rpms back to just under 8400. Will test it again in a few days--maybe 78.5???
